India’s foremost electric car maker, Reva is looking for partners in the US and Europe to set up manufacturing units in various countries. Reva has recently showcased two new models at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. The company has been in news ever since then regarding its new electric car models. Currently Reva sells its models in more than 24 countries.
"We are at exploratory stages for setting up contract manufacturing facilities in overseas markets, including one in the US with Bannon Auto. No deals have been finalised so far, but we expect some positive results soon," said Reva Electric Car Company President (Sales & Marketing) R Chandramouli.
Reva is also ready to establish franchisee agreements with other companies that will cover three-wheelers, mini-buses and vans as well. Northern Lights Energy (NLE) has signed a deal with REVA Electric Car Company to expand the electric vehicle market in Iceland. NLE is developing charging infrastructure in the country and has exclusive distribution rights for REVA electric vehicles, including the recently announced NXR. The firm will launch the car by the end of next year. Last month, India’s REVA inked a deal to license its technology to Bannon Automotive to produce electric vehicles in the US.
